Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Shallum…and his fellow gatekeepers…were responsible for guarding the thresholds of the tent just as their ancestors had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the dwelling of the Lord. In earlier times Phinehas…was the official in charge of the gatekeepers, and the Lord was with him. Zechariah…was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.”
(1 Chronicles 9:19-21)

You place a high priority on guarding the entrances to Your dwellings, Jesus!

May I do the same –

never allowing anyone or anything to enter my life
that would compromise my relationship with You!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and covered the ark and its carrying poles.”
(2 Chronicles 5:7-8)

This was the last time most of them would ever see the ark, Jesus.

Oh, Jesus.

I’m so glad I don’t have to kill a bunch of animals
to worship You.

You sacrificed Yourself for me!

In grateful devotion for the rest of my days
I sacrifice myself in passionate service for You.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting…Assign to each man the specific things he is to carry.”
(Numbers 4:30, 32)

They had to carry the frames of the tabernacle, Jesus –

along with its crossbars, posts and bases.

They had to carry the posts of the surrounding courtyard

with their bases, tent pegs, ropes, all their equipment
and everything related to their use.

Show me, LORD

what You’ve assigned to me.

Pray this Lazaroo in wholehearted adoration:

“…to the church that meets in your home…”
(Philemon 1:2)

That’s how it started, isn’t it, Jesus?

In addition to gathering in the temple courts

small groups of Your people
met together in one another’s homes.

There they ate together
studied Your Word together
prayed together.

Certainly, we have awesome electronic tools at our disposal

to facilitate those two ways of meeting as Your Church.

But can we possibly improve on that simple plan today?

No.
We can’t.

(Numbers 4:26-28)

Somebody had to do it, Jesus.

The Gershonites were it.

My guess?

To carry all those heavy items they had to be pretty strong.
