Pray this Lazaroo with awed admiration:

“Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father.’ And he says in another place, ‘You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.’”
(Hebrews 5:5-6)

You could have done that for Yourself, Jesus!

You have all power and authority.

Instead, You chose to model for us the beautiful humility

that You desire to see in my daily life.

Pray this Lazaroo… in awe:

“…fix your thoughts on Jesus…the high priest…”
(Hebrews 3:1)

I don’t often think of You as my High Priest, Jesus.

But You Are!

The Great High Priest of us all.

Similar to Melchizedek, You were ordained a high priest

apart from the Law given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

Other high priests offered sacrifice each year for themselves

as well as for the people.

Not so, You.

You were the perfect, sinless sacrifice
who offered Yourself once…

for all.
