Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“Elisha said to Gehazi, ‘Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.’ But the child’s mother said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.’ So he got up and followed her.”
(2 Kings 4:29-30)

This Shunammite woman knew who had it, Jesus…

and who didn’t.

Help me know the same.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ…”
(Jude 1:21)

We may have to wait a while for Your ultimate mercy to be revealed, Jesus

but we don’t have to wait long to experience Your mercy
in a thousand ways – small and large –
through the passage of our days.

You are so good to us!
You take care of Your own.
You watch over us like a mother with her newborn.

No…even better.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.”
(Genesis 3:20)

You gave Adam the privilege of naming every animal in the Garden of Eden, Jesus.

But when Adam named Eve
that was utterly, profoundly different.

He knew it.

So he named her in accordance
with what she would become.

Adam was the first man.
Eve was the first woman.

Adam knew every child born in the future
would come from them.

Who will experience New Birth, Father…

because of me?

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“Daughters of Jerusalem, come out, and look, you daughters of Zion. Look on King Solomon wearing a crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced.”
(Song of Songs 3:10-11)

Is she referring to Solomon’s first wedding, Jesus?

Because in disobedience to You
he took many wives – 700 in all.

Many of them were idol worshipers, who in time turned his heart from You.

Remind me, Jesus!
More…isn’t always best.

Follow Jesus’ example as you pray this Lazaroo:

“What Jesus did in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory…After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days. When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.”
(John 2:11-13)

You went from working a miracle…

to loving Your family…

to preparing for Your next mission, Jesus.

I’d love to follow in Your footsteps…

but I might need a litle help with the miracles! 😉

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock. Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.
(1 Chronicles 7:21-22)

The loss of Ephraim’s livestock didn’t even register, Jesus

in comparison to the loss of his sons.

I’m sure he appreciated his relative’s attempts to comfort him

but the agony of this kind of tragedy
doesn’t disappear overnight.

There is a comfort

only You can give.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…the older women…can train the younger women to love their…children…”
(Titus 2:3-4)

Most young moms have deep feelings of love for their children, Jesus

but that’s not the same as loving them
the way they need to be loved.

You’re the One who reveals when they need a hug

and when they need discipline

when they need encouragement
and when they need ultimatums

when they need their mothers to hold on tight
and when their mothers must let them go.

Pray this Lazaroo with respect and honor:

“…you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before.”
(Ruth 2:11)

That’s the kind of thing people do in honor of You, Jesus!

Ruth did all of that to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi

out of respect for the woman she loved
and in honor of the God Naomi worshiped:

You.

You’re worth every big time price I pay

every courageous action I take in obedience to You.

Act wisely, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…they disobey their parents…”
(Romans 1:30)

Some parents ought to be disobeyed, Jesus –

anytime they tell a child to do something
You tell them not to do.

Your Word trumps parental authority.

But when it’s anything else –

even if it’s something the child doesn’t like –

that child would be very wise to obey mom or dad.

You’re watching.

Children who honor their fathers and mothers
tend to live a long time.

Those who don’t?
Not so much.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…the God of…Isaac…”
(Exodus 3:16)

It helps to see who You’re willing to be associated with, Jesus.

Isaac was born when his dad Abraham was 100 years old
and his mother Sarah was 90!

Abraham almost sacrificed him
because that’s what he thought You wanted.

No, Isaac wasn’t perfect.

He lied about his wife.
Played favorites with his children.

But You accomplished great things through this flawed man.

Please, LORD!

Accomplish great things through even more deeply flawed

me.
