Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…they will take possession of it.”
(Deuteronomy 1:39)

This was a brutally hard thing for Your people to hear, Jesus.

The thing they had worked so hard to accomplish
the land they had journeyed so long to enter

was not to be theirs.

Instead, it was their children who would enjoy it.

Their sin had robbed them of Your promise.

May that not be true of me!

But may all those who come after me

indeed possess what You have promised!

Pray this Lazaroo in total trust:

“…they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun.”
(Ecclesiastes 2:19)

Solomon’s nervous about what his heirs are going to do after he’s gone, Jesus.

I’m sure my parents had some of those same thoughts about me.
Maybe I’ll feel the same toward my kids!

But what matters isn’t the stuff I leave behind, is it?

It’s the quality of my children’s 1on1 relationship

with You.

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“As for anyone who is in the house with you…”
(Joshua 2:19)

They’re a greater responsibility, aren’t they, Jesus?

More than people at work, or on the street
more than acquaintances or friends.

But what can I do?

If they’re young, I have some control
though not as much as I think.

But the older they are, the less my influence.

The day comes when the only true impact I have on them
is my sincere, consistent, Godly example.
