Pray this Lazaroo in trembling awareness:

“The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”
(Zechariah 5:4)

Pretty scary, Jesus.

So…what are You going to send out?

That flying scroll that carries a curse.

Is that flying scroll hovering above the earth right now?

…above my country…my family…

…above me?

If so, only this will prevent it from entering:

Repentance and Obedience.

Pray this Lazaroo in ardent love:

“See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.”
(Joshua 3:11-12)

When You go before me, Jesus

I can’t fail!

Only when You’ve gone before me

can those You’ve chosen to go with me

be of any help!

May I never rely on the expertise of my family, friends or team.

Only You. Only You. Only You.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“We ought therefore to show hospitality…”
(3 John 1:8)

It’s not enough to feel hospitable, is it, Jesus?

You want me to show it.
Others want me to show it.

But do I?

It’s so easy to become consumed
with my life, my work, my family, my pursuits –

to leave others to focus on their own lives
while I focus on mine.

Clearly, however, that’s not what You desire.

Open my heart, LORD!
to everyone You’re calling into my embrace.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“In those days, John the Baptist came…”
(Matthew 3:1)

We could use another John the Baptist right about now, Jesus!

When You sent John he was fearless.
He named names and took no prisoners.

You called him to prepare the way for You
challenging people to live holy lives and turn to God.

Eventually, it cost him his life.

Are You calling me to be a John the Baptist among my family and circle of friends?

Okay.

No matter what the cost..

Take stock, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Filled with compassion…”
(Mark 1:41)

Am I ever filled with compassion, Jesus?

If so, when?

Is it only when it involves the people in my family

in my circle of friends?

or am I able to be filled with compassion for all those who are hurting

total strangers
people who speak a different language
those of another skin color?

Am I filled with compassion

for those who’ve brought suffering on themselves

…for those who’ve brought suffering on me?
