Pray this Lazaroo with repurposed love:

“To what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, Virgin Daughter Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you? The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading.”

I’m tempted to tell people what they want to hear, Jesus

instead of what they need to hear.

But when I hide the truth

to make them like me

I deserve the fate that overtakes them.

Pray this Lazaroo with Golden Rule Godliness:

“How painful are honest words!”
(Job 6:25)

That’s so true, Jesus.

Honest words can be incredibly painful –

Especially when I’m telling someone
something they don’t want to hear
but need to hear.

Help me be honest with everyone!

But also…

help me be kind.

There’s a way to tell a hard truth
using soft, encouraging, uplifting, hope-filled words

and to do so with a humble spirit
in mutual respect

telling others the truth
the way I want it told to me.

False prophecy is disgusting, Jesus.

Lying to the people who feed them
pandering to them, reassuring them

in spite of the fact
that they were sent by You
to warn them.

Question:

Do I ever tell people what they want to hear

instead of what they need to hear

because I want them to like me?
