Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled. I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it.”
(Isaiah 5:5-6)

I never want to turn You into my enemy, Jesus!

Please keep me close to You.
Please – never let me stray.

I choose to stay in deep, daily, moment-by-moment, 1on1 relationship with You

forever.

Pray this Lazaroo in total dedication:

“With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood!”
(2 Peter 2:14)

What are my eyes full of, Jesus?

If not adultery, what?

Even if it’s a different sin, the result is the same.

I’ll never stop sinning.

Only when my eyes are full of love for You and Your Word

pleasing You and serving Your people

will I be able to stop my sinning
and start laying up significant heavenly treasure.

Pray this Lazaroo in loving gratitude:

“But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:6)

These kinds of relationships are rare, Jesus.

If I have anything like this, help me cherish it
and never take it for granted.

If I don’t have anything like it

please bring this blessing into my life!

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes wide open:

“‘Stand in the doorway of the tent,’ he told her. ‘If someone comes by and asks you, “Is anyone in there?” say “No.”’” But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.”
(Judges 4:20-21)

Jael did this for You, Jesus.

But the principle is clear:

If I don’t know for a fact someone is trustworthy
never let down my guard.

Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
(Exodus 5:8-9)

But they weren’t lazy, Jesus!

They were obeying You!

May I always remember:

Even when I’m doing exactly what You desire
this can happen to me.

When others judge me harshly

should I quit obeying You?

No!
Never.

Pray this Lazaroo in Holy Spirit-guided introspection:

“Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder, never without victims! The crack of whips, the clatter of wheels, galloping horses and jolting chariots! Charging cavalry, flashing swords and glittering spears!”
(Nahum 3:1-3)

The city of Ninevah had it all, Jesus…

everything they needed to wreak havoc
on the weaker peoples around them.

How am I equipping myself, Father?

Is it all about being a blessing to others
or only about making things better

for myself?

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord God Almighty, says: ‘There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail.’”
(Amos 5:16)

Though You had repeatedly warned them, Jesus

Your people refused to listen.

They took credit for the blessings You had bestowed upon them

mistreating those less fortunate.

O God! May I never have to be taught

what it’s like to have You against me

instead of for me.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had left; he was gone. My heart sank at his departure. I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer.”
(Song of Songs 5:6)

Few feelings are worse, Jesus

than to be abandoned by someone I love
someone I thought loved me.

But You are the Friend who sticks closer than a brother!

You will never leave me!
You will never forsake me!

Pray this Lazaroo with faith in the One who’s in charge:

“I saw that all who lived and walked under the sun followed the youth, the king’s successor. There was no end to all the people who were before them. But those who came later were not pleased with the successor.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:15-16)

And that’s how it goes, doesn’t it, Jesus?

None of us is on top forever.
Some of us are on top

never.

People are fickle.
Times change.

But You never do!

I am so thankful that it’s not the crowd
that decides my fate.

It’s You!

Thank God, it’s You.

Pray this Lazaroo with desperate faith:

“…never again will my people be shamed. And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
(Joel 2:27-28)

I long for the day when we will no longer be shamed, Jesus!

Pour out Your Spirit on all Your people!
Grant us holy dreams and visions!

Yes, we read Your Word and do our best to apply it to our lives.

But we’re so weary of wondering
if we got it right.
