Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“…whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.”
(Romans 3:19-20)

Well, I’m certainly conscious of mine, Jesus.

My sins stare me in the face.
I live with their consequences.

But Hallelujah!

Through my faith in Your death and resurrection
I’m no longer under the law!

Pray this Lazaroo with unwavering devotion:

“…the king of Egypt said, ‘Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labor? Get back to your work!’’…That same day Pharaoh gave this order: ‘You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw.”
(Exodus 5:4,6-7)

When I obey You, Jesus

sometimes things get worse.

At first.

But when I continue to obey You no matter what

the outcome is always more than worth it.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My beloved is knocking: ‘Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.’ I have taken off my robe—must I put it on again? I have washed my feet—must I soil them again?”
(Song of Songs 5:2-3)

Yes, Jesus

She must.

That’s the price of love.

It’s no longer what I want.
It’s what they want.

Pray this Lazaroo in solemn awareness:

“…the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.”
(2 Chronicles 5:14)

There comes a time when what I do for You is no longer as important

as experiencing You, Jesus!

Deep, Daily, Moment-by-Moment

1on1 with You.

Maybe that time is more often than I think.

Maybe that time is always.

Maybe that time is now.

If I don’t have that, then God help me…

I have nothing.

Pray this Lazaroo in holy fear:

“…we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know. For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith.”
(1 Thessalonians 3:4-5)

Persecutions are scary things, Jesus.

In this, I’m like Paul:

When someone I love
is battling through a horrible experience
my biggest concern is the impact on their faith.

To those enduring the devastation of Satan’s vicious attacks

help me be a blessing!

Pray this Lazaroo with deep reverence:

“’Who are you?’ he asked. ‘I am your servant Ruth,’ she said. ‘Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a guardian-redeemer of our family.’”
(Ruth 3:9)

Ruth took a huge chance, Jesus.

She entered the place where women never went

to offer herself to become the wife
of a man who hadn’t asked her to marry him.

But this was Your doing!

When You tell me to do something unusual or impossible

rules no longer apply.

Pray this Lazaroo with utter humility:

“‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord, ‘I will frown on you no longer, for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord, ‘I will not be angry forever. Only acknowledge your guilt—you have rebelled against the Lord your God, you have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every spreading tree, and have not obeyed me,’ declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 3:12-13)

It’s when I refuse to acknowledge my guilt

that You continue to frown on me, isn’t it, Jesus?

Well, let me take care of that right now:

I’m guilty!
My sins are horrific!

I have no excuse.
None.

Please be merciful to me, a sinner.

Pray this Lazaroo in total repentance:

“Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.’”
(Romans 3:9-12)

This breaks my heart, Jesus!

I know it breaks Yours.

Somehow, someway…

through the infilling power of Your Holy Spirit
may this no longer be true of me.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath; my eyes will never see happiness again. The eye that now sees me will see me no longer; you will look for me, but I will be no more.”
(Job 7:7-8)

This is absolutely how Job felt, Jesus

but what he felt was absolutely wrong.

He spoke out of the pain and bitterness of his immense suffering

supposing they would continue till the day he died.

They didn’t.

You stepped in and rescued him!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your being:

“The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
(Nahum 2:13)

You sent Jonah to warn Ninevah of their impending doom, Jesus.

But when they repented
You relented!

Not this time.

Not long after You granted them a stay of execution
they went right back to their detestable sins.

They stopped sinning to avoid punishment
not because they hated and rejected what they had done.

Nahum was the last prophet You sent to them.

O God!
May I never cross that line!
