Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Confident of your obedience…”
(Philemon 1:21)

I wish You could be confident of mine, Jesus!

I wish my friends and family could be.
I wish I could be.

But I’m not.

Oh, I’m confident of my good intentions.

You know all about those, too.

I sure do mean well.

But my follow-through needs some work.

I don’t have to tell You that last statement was an understatement.

My follow-through needs a lot of work.

Help me. Please.
Help me.

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“The LORD has spoken.”
(Obadiah 1:18)

That’s what’s said when You’ve handed down Your verdict, Jesus.

There’s a finality to it

as though The Judge’s gavel has fallen

reverberating throughout eternity.

When it’s worded like that

it’s usually bad news.

But You also speak amazing promises, LORD!

These, too, are good for all time.

Your promises to Your loving, obedient people

can never, ever be broken.

May every happy, faithful promise in Your book

be forever  mine.

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“…she won his favor and approval…”
(Esther 2:17)

There’s no doubt about it, Jesus –

Esther was beautiful.
Beautiful people win favor and approval more easily than others.

But that’s not why this king was so attracted to her.

You made it happen.

You positioned her in the crucially important role

You designed her to carry out.

If I’m obedient, You’ll grant me the favor and approval I need

to carry out every task and role You’ve designed for me.

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Peter…an apostle to the Jews…”
(Galatians 2:8)

True, Peter’s primary ministry was to the Jews, Jesus…

but every now and then
You sent him to the Gentiles.

Certainly, You have a primary ministry for me, for which I am deeply grateful.

But every now and then

You send me somewhere else
to someone else.

When you do, may I never hesitate, object, or balk.

Help me be faithful to what You’ve said

but always sensitive
to what You’re saying.
