(2 Thessalonians 3:2)

That seems an obvious statement, Jesus.

Of course wicked and evil people don’t have faith!

Oh, wait a minute…

are You referring to those who only pretend to have faith
but in their hearts are wicked and evil

doing incalculable damage behind my back
while smiling to my face?

Yes, LORD.

Please.

Deliver me from them!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, ‘The person who does these things will live by them.’”
(Galatians 3:12)

If I was counting on my obedience to Your law to save me, Jesus

I’d be doomed to hell.

To say I fall short is not only to state the obvious.
It’s the understatement of the century.

It’s not because I don’t care.

I try with all my might to please You…

and then I don’t.

Pray this Lazaroo with opened eyes:

“If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.”
(James 2:11)

Pretty obvious, Jesus –

when I see it in somebody else.

But You’re pointing this out through Your half-brother James

because I have a hard time seeing it in myself.

I tend to look at other people’s sins as foolish, tragic, inexcusable

while seeing my own sins as no big deal.

How blind can I be?

I think I’ve already answered that question.
