Not so different from today, Jesus!

“I have so much to text you…
or email you…

“…but I don’t want to use my cell.”

The message is the same:

There’s just something special
about face to face.

One day in heaven, Jesus…

“…also to Apphia our sister…”
(Philemon 1:2)

Who is this woman Apphia, Jesus?

Although she was obviously
someone of standing and influence
a key person in the church

Paul doesn’t say –

except to call her his sister.

Not his biological sister.
His sister because of their mutual faith in You.

For all of us who trust You as our LORD and Savior

are family –
brothers and sisters under You
our God and Father.

And one day in heaven…

I’ll get to meet my sister Apphia!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”
(Proverbs 3:5)

It’s impossible to trust You with all my heart, Jesus…

while leaning on my own understanding.

My understanding trips me up because it’s woefully incomplete.

I don’t have the whole picture.
My brain’s not that big.

One day in heaven I’ll be like You.
Maybe then I’ll see it for what it is.

But that day is not yet.

Help me trust!

“…the Lord will give you insight into all this.”

I’m grateful for every insight You’ve given me, Jesus.

But to think there’s coming a day when You’ll give me insight

into all this?

Wow.

I believe You, but try though I might

my mind can’t fully take it in.

There are so many things I don’t understand

but there’s a perfect, satisfying answer

for now known only to You

which one day with me
