Pray this Lazaroo in profound gratitude:

“The one who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.”
(Revelation 2:11)

That’s extremely good to know, Jesus…

because the first death scares the livin’ tar out of most of us.

Consequently, hearing there’s a second death out there, just waiting…

doesn’t do just a whole lot for our emotional health.

But as much as I dread the painful dying experience of the first death

I love knowing I don’t have to fear what comes after.

Pray this Lazaroo with full-on ardor:

“To the one who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life…”
(Revelation 2:7)

What more incentive could I possibly need, Jesus?

I’ve got some things to overcome, in 2018.

Some of them are new challenges.
But others are as old as I am.

The new ones are a handful, but the old ones?

Those are scariest of all.

After all this time, they’re still here.

But so are You.
