“Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers.”
(3 John 1:9-10)

This guy’s a piece of work, Jesus.

He’s so afraid he’ll lose his position in the church
that he wants no one else to attend!

May I always put the spread of Your gospel

Oh, what a solemn, sacred trust, Jesus!

Help me to come to Your Word with an open mind and heart!

May I never approach with my own agenda
seeking to proof-text what I already believe.

Instead, may I open my Bible in true humility
eager to be taught.
