Pray this Lazaroo with white-hot fervor:

“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus.”
(Philemon 1:4-5)

I don’t blame Paul for praising Philemon for the love he showed for other believers, Jesus.

But without Philemon’s faith
it would have had no eternal meaning.

It’s my faith in You
that restores me when I’m less than loving.

It’s my faith in You
that will get me that hug from You one day in heaven.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker…”
(Philemon 1:1)

It’s great to have a friend, Jesus

and what would I do, if I didn’t have people to work alongside me?

But to have both in one person – a friend and fellow worker –

is golden.

Thank You for every one of them You’ve placed in my life!

Bless them richly.
Protect them.

Help me show them the love and gratitude I feel for them.

Enable me to be a great friend and fellow worker to others!

Pray this Lazaroo with self-evaluation:

“Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke…”
(Philemon 1:23-24)

Everybody wanted in on the greetings, Jesus.

And no wonder!

Philemon was a wealthy leader in Your early Church
deeply respected by the other believers.

I can’t help but wonder, though…

would they have been as eager to greet a poor nobody?

Would I?

Wealthy leaders receive many greetings.

But warm words mean a whole lot more
to poor nobodies.

Pray this Lazaroo with a full heart:

“I hope to be restored to you…”
(Philemon 1:22)

That’s so good, Jesus.

Paul isn’t focused on restoration for his own sake.

His desire is to be restored to his friend and fellow worker.

He knows Philemon has been praying for that very thing.

When I’m down sick or unavailable

who needs my restoration?

Help me get my focus off of myself

and onto You for Your wisdom and strength
so I can be a blessing to others.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“I write to you…”
(Philemon 1:21)

Paul thought he knew who his letter was going to, Jesus

but did You give Him a glimpse that it might be going further –
to be read by billions of people for thousands of years?

Pretty amazing.

You gave Him the words
he conveyed them to Philemon
and You made sure they kept going

all the way to me.

O God!

What are Your plans for the words I speak and write?
