Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
(2 Corinthians 3:17)

Most nonbelievers think Christianity is a boatload of rules, Jesus.

They would be stunned to read this verse.

Frankly, so am I.

Oh, not because I don’t believe it.
I do!

But because I’ve not been fully living in the freedom
You so lovingly purchased for me by Your sacrifice on the cross.

Help me live moment-by-moment in Your Spirit
through the power of Your Word!

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.”
(Micah 3:8)

It’s possible, Jesus!

That while all around me are weak, timid and afraid
You would choose to make me bold and strong.

That was true of Your prophet Micah

because He was obeying You
with every fiber of his being.

Weak or strong, bold or timid
may I do the same.

Pray this Lazaroo in full-on passion:

“For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?”
(1 Thessalonians 2:19)

For all his power and authority, Jesus

Paul loved the people to whom You had sent him

which, of course, includes me.

When it comes right down to it

it’s all about love.

May I love Your people not only as Paul did

but as did You.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.”
(Ephesians 3:7)

Every person who follows You can say, “Amen!” to that, Jesus.

That’s exactly how I became a servant of Your gospel:

Your gift of grace.
Wholly undeserved.

More deeply appreciated than words can express.

And yes, it took Your incomparable, creative, loving, forgiving power

to transform a wretched sinner like me

into one of Your Own.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you’—when you already have it with you.”
(Proverbs 3:27-28)

You’re not much on playing it close to the vest, are You, Jesus?

Not when it comes to withholding from people what I owe them.

With You as my Helper, My Provider, My LORD and my God

I never will!

Pray this Lazaroo with over-the-top trust:

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.”
(1 John 2:20)

At first, that sounds so encouraging, Jesus –

and it is.

I’m thoroughly, totally, absolutely equipped to succeed!

But at second look, it scares me to death.

I do know the truth…

which makes me responsible to live it.

I can’t plead ignorance.

So maybe I’d better plead for Your mercy, grace and power

to do what I know to do.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient? Do I have the strength of stone? Is my flesh bronze? Do I have any power to help myself, now that success has been driven from me?”
(Job 6:11-13)

Thank You for sharing Job’s words, Jesus!

Knowing how You blessed him after all this
and how beautifully his life turned out

it sure helps me
when I’m able to identify with his discouraged words!

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.’ Joshua said to the priests, ‘Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.’ So they took it up and went ahead of them.”
(Joshua 3:5-6)

These two commands are not unrelated, Jesus.

As I consecrate myself

I need the life-changing wisdom, comfort and power

of Your holy Word to go before me

every step of the way.

Pray this Lazaroo in utter reliance on God:

“…be like…a young stag on the rugged hills.”
(Song of Songs 2:17)

This is truly intimate, sacred lovers’ language, Jesus!

But this kind of energy in the face of challenge
is exactly what I long for!

There’s no escaping it:

You lead me to rugged hills!

In Your wisdom and power

You call me to climb them, endure them, conquer them.

If I’m to succeed, I’m going to need a double helping

of Your spiritual version of young stag strength! 😉

Pray this Lazaroo with righteous determination:

“…without anger…”
(1 Timothy 2:8)

There’s righteous anger, Jesus

but that’s not what You’re talking about, is it?

You’re telling me to worship You and serve You and interact with others

free of the caustic acid of unrighteous anger.

My anger.

Where do I allow that to creep in, Holy Spirit?

Show me!

So rise up within me in Your love and power

that You enable me to totally eradicate it from my life.

In Jesus’ Name!

Amen.
