“I will surely raise my hand against them…”

Don’t want to ever hear that, Jesus!

Not as it pertains to me.

I need Your hand to

save me
comfort me
sustain me
strengthen me
guide me
protect me
show me
cover me
lift me
help me.

But dear God!

May Your hand never be raised against me.

Against my enemies, though?

Tempting.
But You’ve told me to pray for them.

Nah. Don’t.
Go ahead and bless them.

friends, family

those sick and hurting.

However…when you tell me to pray for “everyone”…

that includes evil people

terrorists
liars, cheaters
thieves, rapists, murderers

my enemies.

I have to confess, Father: I don’t want to.

But since You say so, I’ll do it.
I’ll pray for them

until I’m forced to pray against them.
