Okay, Jesus.

Faith comes by hearing Your Word.

It also comes by seeing what You have done in the past

and what You’re doing in the present.

So I build myself up in my most holy faith

by paying attention to what you’ve done

and what You’re doing.

But bottom line?

Faith is a gift straight from You.
You’re the one who has to give it.

That’s what I need more than anything, Jesus –

Everyone? Fully mature in You, Jesus?

Now, that would be an all-time miracle!
Especially for the likes of me.

But that’s exactly the miracle for which I pray –

not only for all my brothers and sisters in You
but also for me –

the least deserving
lowliest follower
of them all.

And yet…

I believe!

You’re everywhere present, Jesus…

so this is an intensification of Your Presence, isn’t it?

You’re always wherever I am

but there’s the potential of something closer
more palpable, more intimate.

Wow.

I want that.

Let me rephrase:
I want You.

But You want me, too, don’t You?

Oh, not merely in the sense
that I’ve prayed to receive You as my Savior

but in deep, daily, moment-by-moment
1on1 relationship with You.
