Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.”
(Leviticus 4:31)

I’m so glad we don’t have to do all that anymore, Jesus!

Now, there’s a new aroma – one even more pleasing to You:

“Then the priest is to take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.”
(Leviticus 4:30)

You made him use his finger to touch the blood of this goat, Jesus!

He probably didn’t want to
but that made it personal.

May this remind me of how achingly personal it got for You

on the cross.

“But go, show yourself…”

You were telling this man whose leprosy You had just healed, Jesus

to go show himself to the priest
so he’d be allowed back in normal society.

But that’s what every one of us You’ve touched should do.

We should go show ourselves
to anyone who’ll look.

They need to see what You can do for them

if they will open themselves to You.

Like Moses after being with You

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“…you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.”
(Micah 2:5)

This was disastrous, Jesus.

Unless one of Your anointed priests was available
casting the lot was nothing more than a roll of the dice.

Your anointing matters –

not just on Jewish priests
but on Your people

including me.

You’ve anointed all who know Your truth and have placed their trust in You alone.

To not have that anointing
is disastrous.

I’m no priest, Jesus

but that goes for me, too.

When You teach me something I need to share it.

When people twist or pervert Your Word
I’ve got to do what I can to set the record straight.

Wait a minute…

I am a priest!

I had almost forgotten that You promote everyone to that holy office

who places their trust and hope
solely in You.
