Pray this Lazaroo in Godly humility:

“…some of the priests took care of mixing the spices. A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with the responsibility for baking the offering bread. Some of the Kohathites, their fellow Levites, were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.”
(1 Chronicles 9:30-32)

Are these tasks too mundane for a priest, Jesus?

Not at all!

No matter how small

whatever I do for You is holy and significant.

Pray this Lazaroo in solemn awareness:

“…the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God.”
(2 Chronicles 5:14)

There comes a time when what I do for You is no longer as important

as experiencing You, Jesus!

Deep, Daily, Moment-by-Moment

1on1 with You.

Maybe that time is more often than I think.

Maybe that time is always.

Maybe that time is now.

If I don’t have that, then God help me…

I have nothing.

Pray this Lazaroo humbled with gratitude:

“…as soon as all of them had crossed, the ark of the Lord and the priests came to the other side while the people watched. That day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they stood in awe of him all the days of his life, just as they had stood in awe of Moses.”
(Joshua 4:11, 14)

When You give me a job, Jesus

You grant me the power – and when necessary –

the respect from others
required to achieve it.

Pray this Lazaroo in Godly determination:

“The priests, who were heads of families, numbered 1,760. They were able men, responsible for ministering in the house of God.”
(1 Chronicles 9:13)

Make me like these, Jesus –

able…and responsible –
ministering in Your house.

Only You – the Giver of every good gift –

can make me competent to do Your Work!

Help me be truly responsible –

fulfilling my duties day after day, without fail.

And no matter where You place me in Your Church –

from the front to the back pew –

use me to minister to Your precious people!

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“Now the priests who carried the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything the Lord had commanded Joshua was done by the people, just as Moses had directed Joshua. The people hurried over…”
(Joshua 4:10)

It’s incredibly hard to stand still, Jesus –

especially when everybody else is hurrying past
under the shadow of a towering wall of water!

But may I move when You say move

and stay put when You so command.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest gratitude:

“The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and covered the ark and its carrying poles.”
(2 Chronicles 5:7-8)

This was the last time most of them would ever see the ark, Jesus.

But because of what You did on the cross
I’m meeting with You in the Most Holy Place right now!

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest respect:

“Of the priests:…Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the official in charge of the house of God…”
(1 Chronicles 9:10-11)

What a high and holy calling, Jesus!

Of course, we can meet with You anywhere
because You’re everywhere!

But those places You have set apart for regular worship

have become sacred – to You and to us.

May I always do my part

to lovingly care for our place of worship.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“Joshua set up the twelve stones that had been in the middle of the Jordan at the spot where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant had stood. And they are there to this day.”
(Joshua 4:9)

What an awesome reminder of that miracle, Jesus!

We need reminders.

Because too often
we forget.

That usually happens

when we ask You for something that isn’t best
and don’t get it.

Maybe I need to set up some physical reminders

of the things You’ve done for me!

Pray this Lazaroo with mounting anticipation:

“Now the first to resettle on their own property in their own towns were some Israelites, priests, Levites and temple servants.”
(1 Chronicles 9:2)

There’s nothing like coming home, Jesus.

Well…that’s true if home is a good place.

Many people have had bad experiences growing up.

So for them, returning home would be painful.

But here’s the beautiful thing I’ve got to keep in mind:

This world is not my home!

My home is with You, in heaven.

Oh, what a joy it will be
to go home.

Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?…he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat…The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath…So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
(Mark 2:25-28)

You’re the One who makes the rules, Jesus.

I’m not about to question You when You change them.

My job is real simple:

Obey.
