Pray this Lazaroo with unbounded gratitude:

“Can reeds thrive without water? While still growing and uncut, they wither more quickly than grass. Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless. What they trust in is fragile; what they rely on is a spider’s web.”
(Job 8:11-14)

My trust is in You, Jesus.

You’re the only one who will never fail.

Thank You for rescuing me from the spider’s web

that traps all who are destined for destruction.

Admit it – as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:11-12)

One more strong reminder, Jesus:

No matter how self-sufficient I feel
I’m not going to do as well all by myself.

No matter how antisocial my personality
sooner or later I’m gonna need somebody.

Please lead me to the right somebody.

Pray this Lazaroo with informed caution:

“Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder…”
(Nahum 3:1)

People would expect a city full of plunder

to be in pretty good shape, Jesus!

But it’s the blood they’ve shed to get it
the lies they’ve told to keep it

that earn Your pronouncement of woe.

When You say, “Woe!”

I’d better say, “Woah!”

and quickly repent
stop harming others
stop telling lies

or I’ll discover firsthand
just how terrible Your woes can be.

Pray this Lazaroo with limitless faith:

“…the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died. She called her husband and said, ‘Please send me one of the servants and a donkey so I can go to the man of God quickly and return.’ ‘Why go to him today?’ he asked. ’“It’s not the New Moon or the Sabbath.’ ‘That’s all right,’ she said.”
(2 Kings 4:20, 22-23)

He didn’t get it, Jesus.

It didn’t occur to Him that You could raise the dead.

How many times have I underestimated Your Power?

Please: Help me get it!

Pray this Lazaroo in quiet trust:

“The couriers went out, spurred on by the king’s command, and the edict was issued in the citadel of Susa. The king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Susa was bewildered.”
(Esther 3:15)

The deadly plot Haman hatched against Your people

quickly spread throughout the kingdom, Jesus

leaving fear in its wake.

No matter!

What you had planned for Haman and all like him

was about to backfire

and bring about their total destruction.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“…they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked….”
(Judges 2:17)

What a devastating outcome, Jesus!

These people were taught right.
They had good examples set before them.

Their parents hadn’t failed.

They had.

They couldn’t wait to throw off the restraints of righteousness

hurrying to leave the safe, narrow path.

Instead, they lusted after the broad, popular path of wickedness.

Rejecting their heritage
they plunged themselves into the inescapable consequences

of the dark, hellish pit.

Pray this Lazaroo in humility:

“I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord…”
(Philemon 1:20)

Sometimes I have to be that direct, Jesus.

When someone is dragging their feet
slow to do what they ought to do

give me the courage to say words that will light a fire under them!

Of course, that’s not always the case.

Sometimes they’re truly following You
and I’m being impatient.

O God!

Give me the wisdom to know the difference!
