Pray this Lazaroo in unwavering trust:

“On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her…”
(Esther 5:1-2)

Help me follow Esther’s example, Jesus.

Before You required her to break the rules and ask for an exception

she followed Your rules religiously

planting the good seed
one day
she would need to reap.

Pray this Lazaroo with hyperfocus:

“Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: ‘Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace.’”
(Luke 2:27-29)

Simeon was there at that once-in-a-lifetime moment, Jesus

because the Spirit moved him to be there.

How many times have You moved me, Holy Spirit

and I missed a priceless moment
because I failed to respond?

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord…and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: ‘a pair of doves or two young pigeons.’”
(Luke 2:22, 24)

Joseph and Mary did what they knew to do for You, Jesus.

Such small things.

But they were obedient to Your Word

leaving the outcome in Your Father’s Hands.

That’s all I can do

but I had better make sure I do it!

Pray this Lazaroo with single-minded determination:

“This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
(1 Corinthians 4:1-2)

What have You entrusted to me, Jesus?

Whom have You entrusted to me?

Don’t allow me to overlook even one of Your assignments!

I long to have You look on me one day and say:

“You have proven faithful.”

Pray this Lazaroo with white-hot fervor:

“Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything…”
(Titus 2:9)

This isn’t a pro-slavery command, Jesus

it’s a pro-obedience command.

The law required slaves to obey their masters.

You were telling them to obey the law.

Yes, you told slaves to obtain their freedom when possible

but while they remained slaves
You wanted the slaves who bore Your Name
to be the best slaves possible

in order to win their masters and everyone else
to You.

Pray this Lazaroo with explosive feeling:

“Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
(2 Kings 4:3-4)

She didn’t have enough oil to fill even one jar, Jesus.

But before You worked the miracle
You required her – in an act of faith –
to collect a houseful of empty jars.

All my empty jars are sitting here, Jesus!

Ready.
