Do they take it to heart?

Do they remember it?
Do they put it into practice?

No parent can make a child respond to their hard-earned wisdom, no matter how hard they try.

Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“The Jews then responded to him, ‘What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.’”
(John 2:18-19)

You Are God, Jesus.

You proved it by Your teaching and miracles.

But when You were publicly executed and buried –

then rose from the dead exactly as You promised?
More than 500 witnesses?

That seals the deal.
Case closed.

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the…struggle…you saw I had…”
(Philippians 1:30)

So how do I respond to people’s struggles, Jesus?

Sometimes I hurt with them, feel it to the bone
fervently pray.

But at other times, not so much.

Sometimes I quickly look away
not wanting to grapple with it.

Sometimes I shudder,
thinking, “Glad it’s not me.”

Sometimes I believe they’re getting
what they deserve.

Forgive me, LORD!

Enable me to respond to their pain
as I beg You to respond to mine.
