Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests’…the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’”
(Luke 2:13-15)

Oh, to have been there in that stunning moment, Jesus –

when the heavens opened!

But the Day is coming

when You will show me far more than that.

Pray this Lazaroo with inexpressible gratitude:

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”
(Hebrews 4:9-11)

I rest, Jesus –

from my futile work of attempting to earn my salvation.

I can’t – no matter how hard I try.

I confess that my faith in You –

Your death, burial and resurrection –

is my only hope for eternal life!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“…except for a short rest in the shelter.”
(Ruth 2:7)

I can’t work all the time, Jesus.

That’s not how You created me.

You made me in Your image

and You took a one-day-out-of-seven rest.

It’s instructive to note that Ruth took a short rest.

That’s all she – or I – need.

But it’s also important to remember

that she took advantage of a shelter
out from under the heat of the sun.

O God!

Will You be my Shelter?
