Pray this Lazaroo bursting with confidence:

“When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews, and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, ‘What are those feeble Jews doing’”
(Nehemiah 4:1-2)

To my enemies, Jesus

I may look feeble.

But if my enemies are Your enemies

my enemies are underestimating what You’re able to do

through one of Your feeble followers
who puts all my trust in You.

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered recognition:

“In the last times there will be scoffers…”
(Jude 1:17)

As long as Satan has been doing his dirty work, Jesus

there have been scoffers –

ugly-spirited, detestable people who ridicule truth
who jeer, mock and treat with contempt
those who trust in Your Name.

But in the last times, their numbers will multiply.

They will be found everywhere –

in the streets, universities, entertainment, marketplace
in the highest offices of the land.

Just guessing…

but we might be in the last times.

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful delight:

“Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of a half-district of Jerusalem, repaired the next section.”
(Nehemiah 3:9)

The wall of Jerusalem was broken down, Jesus.

Your enemies laughed and ridiculed:

“What are those feeble Jews doing?
Will they restore their wall?

“Can they bring the stones back to life
from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?”

Yes, they could – because You raised up people like Rephaiah

a leader who wasn’t too proud
to do whatever needed to be done.

Pray this Lazaroo in devoted passion:

“…they will taunt you…”
(Micah 2:4)

Is there anything rougher, Jesus?

Well, sure.
There are a lot of things worse than being made fun of.

But it’s still tough to take –

especially when the taunts appear to be true.

It’s bad enough to be down, hurting, defeated…

but when people show up to laugh about it?

Whew!

Is there any better way to shut their mouths

than when You rise up within me to come back strong?

Nope.
There isn’t.
