Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“Samuel…was afraid to tell Eli the vision, but Eli called him and said, ‘Samuel, my son.’ Samuel answered, ‘Here I am.’ ‘What was it he said to you?’ Eli asked. ‘Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you, be it ever so severely, if you hide from me anything he told you.’”
(1 Samuel 3:15-17)

CHRIST IS RISEN!

May I never be afraid to tell it, Jesus.

May I never hide from anyone
this stunning truth about You!

May the whole world know

what Easter is always and forever about!

Pray this Lazaroo with immovable determination:

“Altogether, those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds numbered 212…The gatekeepers had been assigned to their positions of trust by David and Samuel the seer. They and their descendants were in charge of guarding the gates of the house of the Lord—the house called the tent of meeting.”
(1 Chronicles 9:22-23)

Your House still needs to be guarded, Jesus

even today.

There are many who seek to water down Your gospel

stray from Your Word

turn Your Church into a social club.

May I ever fulfill my position of trust!

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Then Samuel said, ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.’ And the Lord said to Samuel: ‘See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.’”
(1 Samuel 3:10-11)

When You call, Jesus

I’m ready to listen.

Something tells me that whatever You have to say

will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“…Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, ‘Here I am; you called me.’ Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, ‘Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place.”
(1 Samuel 3:8-9)

I haven’t heard Your Voice calling me by name in the night, Jesus.

So let me begin the conversation:

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”

Fully open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions.”
(1 Samuel 3:1)

My guess, Jesus?

Most of us can identify.

In these days, there aren’t many visions.
Some, yes. But not many.

The question is: Why?

It’s certainly not because You have nothing to say.

Could it be because You’re waiting for us to obey Your Word in its written form

before there’s any reason to tell us something else?

Pray this Lazaroo with a pure, passionate heart:

“…the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with people.”
(1 Samuel 2:26)

That’s how I long to grow, Jesus!

Most importantly, to grow in stature and favor with You.

Even if people don’t accept me, it’s okay
so long as You are pleased with me.

Still, it’s good when You cause me to grow
in stature and favor with people

so they will believe me
when I tell them about You.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“…the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.”
(1 Samuel 2:21)

That’s how I want to keep growing up, Jesus –

in Your holy, life-changing, me-transforming Presence!

In a sense, we all grow up in Your Presence, don’t we?

You’re everywhere!
Omnipresent!

But what You had with Samuel was closer, more intimate, wasn’t it?

He walked with You, talked with You.
You made him Your very own.

He learned to discern Your One-of-a-kind Voice.

I want that.

Pray this Lazaroo in ardent love:

“…Samuel was ministering before the Lord—a boy wearing a linen ephod. Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him when she went up with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice.”
(1 Samuel 2:18-19)

She had given her son to You, Jesus

but she wasn’t about to let him go
without making him that little robe each year

until the robe was no longer little!

Help me grow into the “robe” You’ve designed for me!

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“…whenever any of the people offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come with a three-pronged fork in his hand while the meat was being boiled and would plunge the fork into the pan or kettle or caldron or pot. Whatever the fork brought up the priest would take for himself.”
(1 Samuel 2:12-14)

What a detestable abuse of power, Jesus!

You judged and punished Samuel’s sons

and you will surely judge and punish those
who abuse their power today!
