He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace.”

That had to be terrifying, Jesus!

They stood strong for You
and it was about to cost them their lives.

Satan set up this moment, confident they would back down.

It’s hard to believe there are people like that, Jesus!

I don’t get it.

Why would anyone want to lead me astray?

Oh.

He’s at war with You.

to turn me toward him and away from You.

But he’s wasting his time.

Sin doesn’t end in triumph, Jesus

but in humiliation.

Satan packs all his pleasures into the first moments of my disobedience

then leaves me hurting, disgraced, bankrupt.
