(Micah 4:11-12)

I don’t understand all the details of Your Plan either, Jesus.

But I am 100% confident of Your Plan’s Big Picture:

You will punish those who defy You
and save those who turn  to You!

Pray this Lazaroo in new awareness:

“Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”
(Jude 1:22-23)

I’ve heard it for years, Jesus:

“Hate the sin, love the sinner.”

Most people don’t say anything about the sinner’s clothing.

But we should.
Your Word doesn’t contain throwaway lines.
Every Word from Your mouth has a specific purpose.

Clearly, You not only don’t want me to sin

You don’t want me to dress like a sinner!

Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, ‘Come, my lord, come right in. Don’t be afraid.’ So he entered her tent, and she covered him with a blanket.”
(Judges 4:17-18)

Yes, she did, Jesus –

right before she drove a tent peg through his head.

What I think I know won’t save me.

Only You.

In spite of Your sinless perfection, Jesus

if the suffering You endured was necessary for you to learn obedience

who am I to think I’m going to learn obedience

without suffering?

The whole time You were here, Jesus

You knew why You’d come.

Even so, You begged to be delivered from death.

As He sometimes says to me
Your Father said, “no.”

But to our resurrection from the dead

He says, “Yes!”

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“…for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.”
(Esther 4:11)

Esther had to plead with the king for the lives of her people, Jesus.

But to do so was to risk her own life.

Am I willing to risk my life

to save others?

Pray this Lazaroo with steely determination:

“…save others by snatching them from the fire…”
(Jude 1:23)

I’m thinking of three ways to save people, Jesus:

1. Encourage them to develop a Deep, Daily, Moment-by-Moment 1on1 relationship with You.

2. Warn them not to sin.

3. Go after them and rescue them when they’re steeped in wrongdoing.

That last is the hardest.

People who are up to their ears in evil seldom want to hear about You.

But because You command me to do it

I will!

but I can’t save myself.

I’m looking to You alone to save me

If I was counting on my obedience to Your law to save me, Jesus

I’d be doomed to hell.

To say I fall short is not only to state the obvious.
It’s the understatement of the century.

It’s not because I don’t care.

I try with all my might to please You…

and then I don’t.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart

for Your gift of faith!

He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, Stretch out your hand.’ He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.”
(Mark 3:4-5)

That’s how You work nearly every miracle, Jesus –

in spite of our animosity, doubt and outright disbelief.

True, some miracles are granted to those who have faith

which comes directly from You

as a gift.
