“Anyone who…does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God…”

That explains a lot, Jesus!

I often wonder how in the world someone who

attended church
served in ministries
donated to causes
seemed to be a Christian brother or sister

could suddenly abandon everything they supposedly stood for.

Now I know:

They had religion
but they didn’t have You.

Pray this Lazaroo in wholehearted passion:

“…in service to God…”
(Hebrews 2:17)

That’s what You did on earth, Jesus.

And that’s the example You’ve set for me to follow.

You are both God and Man.

But there was no getting around it:
As a man, You needed to serve God.

So do I.

I don’t have the perfect connection that You have
so from time to time I get my signals crossed.

But may I never – not for one moment! –

cease trying to serve You.
