Pray this Lazaroo in solemn introspection:

“…keep yourselves in God’s love…”
(Jude 1:21)

Your love is legendary, Jesus.

No matter how many times I mess up

You forgive me.

HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!

But this command from You through your half-brother Jude

reminds me that I bear a clear and definite responsibility.

If I deliberately and repeatedly sin against You
thinking to take advantage of your love

I might want to think again.

Would anyone who truly belongs to You

callously, premeditatively
do such a thing?

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“But you, dear friends…”
(Jude 1:20)

You’re teaching by contrast, aren’t You, Jesus?

First, You describe the behavior of those who sin against You
then You show me how someone who loves You –

and who is loved by You –

behaves.

It’s supposed to give me the incentive I need to do what’s right.

As You can tell:

It’s working! 😉

Great God in Heaven, I beg You:

May it keep working this day, the next day and the next –

all the way Home.

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. The more priests there were, the more they sinned against me; they exchanged their glorious God for something disgraceful.”
(Hosea 4:6-7)

No, Jesus.

No!

Not I.

On my life:

I will never exchange You for any person, place, or thing!

Never! Never! Never!

You are my All. My Everything.

My Only.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Who told you that you were naked?”
(Genesis 3:11)

It wasn’t You, was it, Jesus?

It was listening to Satan and eating the forbidden fruit
that caused Adam and Eve to feel naked.

Of course, nothing about their appearance had changed.

They weren’t wearing clothes before their disobedience.

But here’s the thing:

Until they sinned, being unclothed didn’t bother them.
It was sin against You that brought shame.

As always.

Only in You

is my shame taken away.

Pray this Lazaroo in stunned realization:

“…they have rebelled against you.”
(Psalms 5:10)

Some people rebel against You defiantly and openly, Jesus.

Others do so while outwardly professing their faith in You.

If all sin is a form of rebellion then I shamefully confess:

I’ve rebelled against You.

No, I’ve not rejected You as my Savior

but every time I do what I know I shouldn’t
I’ve rebelled against You as my LORD.

How dare I – Your soldier in Heaven’s army –

disobey my Commanding Officer?
