Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“…your sins have been forgiven…”
(1 John 2:12)

Are there any sweeter words than that, Jesus?

Not for an habitual, repentant, undeserving sinner like me.

“I love you” are three wonderful words, that’s for sure

but to be loved by one person or a thousand
doesn’t gain me entrance into heaven.

Only what You did for me by giving Your life on the cross

can do that.

What can wash away my sins?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

“…the precious blood of Christ…”
(1 Peter 1:19)

Your blood is precious to me, Jesus

because it took the place of mine

because all of my blood
couldn’t have paid my sin-debt even as much

as one drop of Yours

because I fully deserve to bleed and die
for my inexcusable offenses against You

while You do not –
not for Your own –
and certainly not for mine.

May I never forget the price You paid

to save my soul.
