The Lord has made Zion forget her appointed festivals and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.”
(Lamentations 2:5-6)

You’re longsuffering, Jesus.

But may I never persist in my sin

because I’m terrified to incur Your wrath!

There’s a line I don’t want to cross, isn’t there, Jesus?

with such mercy and forgiveness

(Amos 3:11)

When we keep sinning and sinning and sinning, Jesus…

when we continually ignore Your Voice, calling us to return to You…

there’s always a “therefore,” isn’t there?

I dare not mistake your patience for powerlessness.

I don’t want enemies to overrun my land
pull down my strongholds
plunder my fortresses.

I’ve got to repent and turn it around.
