Pray this Lazaroo in never-say-die determination:

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
(2 Corinthians 4:7-9)

You Are that Treasure, Jesus!

It’s true:

I’m often hard-pressed, perplexed, persecuted
even struck down…

but never:

crushed, in despair, abandoned
and certainly not destroyed.

All this for You, LORD –

Shine through me!

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes wide open:

“After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad. He too saved Israel. Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, now that Ehud was dead. So the Lord sold them into the hands of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor.”
(Judges 3:31-4:2)

You keep supplying Your people with helpers, Jesus.

They keep repaying Your kindness by disobeying You.

There are consequences for that kind of behavior –
consequences I don’t want to reap.

Pray this Lazaroo with unrestrained allegiance:

“…they allowed no one to cross over. At that time they struck down about ten thousand Moabites, all vigorous and strong; not one escaped. That day Moab was made subject to Israel, and the land had peace for eighty years.”
(Judges 3:28-30)

What an amazing victory, Jesus!

But the Israelites were not that superior to the Moabites.

It wasn’t them.
It was You.

Do I need to work on my skills and improve in every way possible?

Sure.

But to truly win?

Only You.

Pray this Lazaroo in the fear of God:

“…the king gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down and he died. The kingdom was now established in Solomon’s hands.”
(1 Kings 2:46)

As politically incorrect as it is to say it, Jesus

if there is to be peace

sometimes someone has to

leave
be kicked out
or die.

Whenever possible, You want us to work things out with each other.

But some people are nothing but hell on earth

until the day they draw their last, divisive breath.

Pray this Lazaroo in sobered awareness:

“After Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy furnishings and all the holy articles, and when the camp is ready to move, only then are the Kohathites to come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy things or they will die.”
(Numbers 4:15)

When the oxen stumbled and Uzzah took hold of the Ark of The Covenant

You struck him down, Jesus
and he died.

When it comes to Your holy things, You don’t mess around!

Neither should I.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“So King Solomon gave orders to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he struck down Adonijah and he died.”
(1 Kings 2:25)

Adonijah was Solomon’s brother, Jesus

but for his conniving attempt to overthrow his younger brother –

whom You anointed king –

he paid with his life.

The first time Adonijah proclaimed himself king

Solomon warned him never to pull a stunt like that again.

But in Adonijah’s case
forewarned was not forearned.

Dear LORD:

Help me learn from this hard example!
