Pray this Lazaroo in mounting anticipation:

“…by the King’s Garden…”
(Nehemiah 3:15)

King’s Gardens are pretty close to the best gardens on earth, Jesus.

They have nearly unlimited funds to build them
the ability to incorporate the most exotic of plants
access to the most skilled gardening experts
their choice of the richest soil in the most desirable land.

But no earthly king’s garden can begin to compare

to the lavish, unimaginably stunning garden of your delights

that awaits my breathtaking arrival in heaven!

Pray this Lazaroo in tearful confidence:

“People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me.”
(Lamentations 1:21)

That’s the hardest, Jesus.

When I keep my suffering to myself
it’s not a surprise that no one comforts me.

But when my pain increases to the point that I’m forced to cry out
and still no one shows up with love and compassion

my agony is multiplied by the stunning realization
that I’m abandoned
forsaken
alone.

Except I’m not!
Hallelujah!!

I have You.

Pray this Lazaroo in sober contemplation:

“…their slaves will plunder them.”
(Zechariah 2:9)

Well, now…

wouldn’t that be a stunning comeuppance, Jesus!

But it’s happened.

And it’ll happen again.

Those I’ve ruled over

can absolutely end up ruling over me.

The only way to avoid that is to be the kind of person You want me to be

when I’m on top.

At the very least, I’ll be sowing the kind of good seed I’ll long to reap

if I ever end up on bottom.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“They will occupy the fields…”
(Obadiah 1:19)

That’s quite a promise, Jesus

or, depending on my perspective

quite a curse.

It’s stunning…humbling…to learn that You’ve given me someone else’s possessions

also stunning…humbling…to think You might give mine to someone else.

That goes for opportunities too, doesn’t it?

When You call me to do something
how many others first turned You down?

If I fail to obey Your calling
who will You raise up instead, to take my place?

Pray this Lazaroo with white-hot purpose:

“Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men…”
(Jude 1:14)

That’s nothing short of amazing, Jesus.

I take that back.

For Enoch to precisely foretell what a group of people were going to be, say and do 3,000 years before they walked this earth

is an absolute miracle.

Of course, that should be no surprise.

Enoch was the one you took to heaven
without requiring him to die first.

Teach me to walk with You

as he did.
