Pray this Lazaroo in growing awareness:

“From the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin they allotted the previously named towns.”
(1 Chronicles 6:65)

How do I respond when something I thought was mine is taken away, Jesus?

I think they call that stealing.

Last time I checked

the eighth of Your Ten Commandments
says that’s not supposed to happen.

But then You come along and say if someone takes my coat

I should let them have my shirt, too.

It’s just stuff, isn’t it?

Pray this Lazaroo with wisdom:

“Then King Solomon swore by the LORD…”
(1 Kings 2:23)

Powerful, Jesus.

But not always wise.

Not something I want to do thoughtlessly

on the spur of the moment
just to impress the people I’m with
to make my point.

It’s a serious, solemn, awesome thing to invoke Your Name –

the Name above every name
the Name before which every knee will bow.

No wonder You made it one of your Ten Commandments

not to misuse Your Name!

Pray this Lazaroo in solemn anticipation:

“…all that was done in the Most Holy Place…”
(1 Chronicles 1:49)

The Most Holy Place, Jesus

the inner sanctuary of the temple in Jerusalem

Your dwelling place on earth

containing the Ark of the Covenant

which contained the Ten Commandments
that You carved out with your own finger

entered once a year by the high priest

until its veil was torn from top to bottom at your crucifixion

now empty, covered over

buried under another’s holy place

waiting.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“…you will worship God on this mountain.”
(Exodus 3:12)

You love to do this, don’t You, Jesus?

to turn a place of humiliating defeat
into a site of glorious triumph!

You met Moses at Mount Horeb where he was tending someone else’s sheep

informed him that he would return to this mountain

with three million people in tow
to hear Your voice and receive Your law.

O Father!

What will You do here one day

in this place
through me?
