What a frightening sight and sound that had to be, Jesus!

You on the attack.
Dear God.

At such times

may I always be behind You as a soldier in Your army
never in the hapless crowd facing You…Your army…

and certain defeat.

Whenever You gather Your troops to engage in a righteous war

call on me.

In Your power and by Your grace
I’ll be there.

Pray this Lazaroo in Godly, cleansing fear:

“With a noise like that of chariots…”
(Joel 2:5)

Much like someone unfortunate enough to be attacked by today’s

Abrams tank
Apache helicopter
A-10 Warthog

anyone hearing that sound would have been paralyzed with fear, Jesus

especially knowing it was You who sent them
because of their stubborn, willful sin.

You’ve punished Your people like that before, Father.

No doubt You’ll have to do it again.

But that’s not how I want to experience You!

I prefer to obey.
