Pray this Lazaroo in grateful anticipation:

“The Lord their God…will restore their fortunes.”
(Zephaniah 2:7)

When things were going well for me, Jesus, I loved it.

I thought it was always going to be that way.

Then I discovered:

It wasn’t.

My sins caused some of it – maybe all of it.

But it might have simply been
that You needed me to fight some of Your battles.

If my suffering is caused by sin, I’ve got to repent!

Either way, I long to live once more

under the spout
where Your glory comes out!

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“…a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it.”
(Ecclesiastes 2:21)

Well, no, Jesus.

If unwise, it doesn’t have to be done that way.

Does it usually happen the way Solomon describes it? Yes.

But is that necessarily bad? No.

One of the joys of life is working hard

so I can pass the fruit of my labors on to those I love.

Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“Is there no prophet of the LORD here…?”
(2 Kings 3:11)

Good question, Jesus.

When You place a prophet among us

we need to know it and pay attention
to whatever You proclaim through them.

But praise Your Holy Name!

Prophet or none, I can go to You directly, Holy Spirit!
I can always turn to the sure guidance of Your Word.

That way, when someone shows up claiming to be a prophet

I can check ‘em out. 😉
