Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood…”
(1 Peter 2:9)

It’s awesome to hear this, Jesus!

But it’s also hard to hear.

I don’t feel worthy.
Why would You choose the likes of me?

I don’t feel like royalty.
When I look in the mirror, I see a commoner.

Who am I to function as a priest?
I’ve got my hands full with my sinning self.

But praise Your holy Name!

I don’t have to feel it
for it to be 100% true.

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: [who]…made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
(Philippians 2:5, 7-8)

Wow, Jesus.

You didn’t have to do that!

In fact, You shouldn’t have.
Not for the likes of me.

But You did!

You lowered Yourself for a person who couldn’t get any lower

because You love me

and want to lift me up higher
than I could ever imagine.

Pray this Lazaroo with God-given confidence:

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.”
(Colossians 1:28)

Everyone? Fully mature in You, Jesus?

Now, that would be an all-time miracle!
Especially for the likes of me.

But that’s exactly the miracle for which I pray –

not only for all my brothers and sisters in You
but also for me –

the least deserving
lowliest follower
of them all.

And yet…

I believe!
