Pray this Lazaroo in total trust:

“Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.”
(Acts 2:43-45)

Were these the greatest days of Your Church, Jesus?

Was this the purest expression of what You had in mind
when You laid down Your life for us?

You’re the Same – yesterday, today and forever.

Great God:

Do it again!

Grasp it! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.”
(Proverbs 3:34-35)

Much of my society has this reversed, Jesus.

They think proud mockers are strong, successful.
They envy them, aspire to be like them.

But the wise among us know better.

Today, their humility has brought them oppression

but tomorrow, eternal honor awaits!

If and when I’m forced to choose –

to have it today or have it tomorrow –

I choose forever in heaven with You!

Pray this Lazaroo with solemn determination:

“…since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience…God again set a certain day, calling it ‘Today.’ This he did when a long time later he spoke through David… ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.’”
(Hebrews 4:6-7)

A hard heart can cost me everything, Jesus!

It can ruin the relationships I desire with my friends and family

and cripple my relationship with You.

Pray this Lazaroo in mounting excitement:

“…our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:16)

Oh, Jesus.

Thank You for eternal encouragement!

I’ve never known anything else like it.

All other encouragement on this earth is short-lived.

Hopeful today…discouraged tomorrow.
Happy today…sad tomorrow.
Feeling good today…feeling bad tomorrow.

But Yours is the encouragement that never wanes.

In fact, as I draw closer to the day I draw my last breath

it keeps getting stronger.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“Rehum the commanding officer and Shimshai the secretary wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king…”
(Ezra 4:8)

I don’t care who wrote such a letter, Jesus.

Whether it’s the president of the United States
one of the 43 kings who reign over countries today
or the high potentate of all high potentates on earth

Nobody – but nobody! –

had dare take a stand against Jerusalem
the holy place You chose above everywhere on earth

for Your Name to dwell.

Pray this Lazaroo in utterly vulnerable trust:

“We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. As has just been said: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.’”
(Hebrews 3:14-15)

I’m holding firmly to my original conviction about You, Jesus

because You’re holding firmly to me.

I do not share in You because I’m holding on.

I hold on because – by grace alone –

You’ve chosen me.

Take sincere warning, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today,’ so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
(Hebrews 3:12-13)

The role of encouragement is huge, isn’t it, Jesus?

It’s so easy to become bogged down
by Satan’s insidious temptations and incessant lies.

Please help me encourage and be encouraged!

every single day.

Glorify God, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“His sister’s name was Maakah. Another descendant was named Zelophehad, who had only daughters. Makir’s wife Maakah gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.”
(1 Chronicles 7:15-16)

Back then it was all about the boys, wasn’t it, Jesus?

But why?

Physically, they were able to do more work.
They could strap on their swords and fight their enemies.

But in today’s world

women are increasingly crucial
to the advancement of Your kingdom!

Pray this Lazaroo with bottomless trust:

“To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who exceed the number of the Levites, collect five shekels for each one…Give the money…to Aaron and his sons.”
(Numbers 3:46-48)

So, Jesus –

each family had to buy back from You every firstborn
or that child would enter Your full-time service –

a practice that helped fund the priesthood.

Regardless of what I do for a living today or in the future

I don’t want to be bought back.
I want to belong full-time to You!

Let the goose bumps multiply, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations…”
(Colossians 1:26)

You revealed so much to Your kings and prophets, Jesus –

to Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah, Isaiah –

but You saved some of Your best stuff for Your Church.

For me.

Everything You did in the past was pointing to this!

May I never be jealous of what they had back then, Father.
Because today – with You in me and I in You –

I’m livin’ the dream.
