Grasp it! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.”
(Proverbs 3:34-35)

Much of my society has this reversed, Jesus.

They think proud mockers are strong, successful.
They envy them, aspire to be like them.

But the wise among us know better.

Today, their humility has brought them oppression

but tomorrow, eternal honor awaits!

If and when I’m forced to choose –

to have it today or have it tomorrow –

I choose forever in heaven with You!

You’re not much on playing it close to the vest, are You, Jesus?

Not when it comes to withholding from people what I owe them.

With You as my Helper, My Provider, My LORD and my God

Pray this Lazaroo in mounting excitement:

“…our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:16)

Oh, Jesus.

Thank You for eternal encouragement!

I’ve never known anything else like it.

All other encouragement on this earth is short-lived.

Hopeful today…discouraged tomorrow.
Happy today…sad tomorrow.
Feeling good today…feeling bad tomorrow.

But Yours is the encouragement that never wanes.

In fact, as I draw closer to the day I draw my last breath

it keeps getting stronger.

Pray this Lazaroo with every fiber of your being:

“…from this day on…”
(Haggai 2:15)

That’s all I can do, Jesus –

“from this day on.”

Although I can learn from it

I can’t change the past

Although I can anticipate it

I can’t jump ahead to tomorrow.

Not yet.

If anything is going to change it has to start

with this day.

It’s tempting to put it off till tomorrow.

But if I do, this day
becomes that day

otherwise known as procrastination

because that day
seldom comes.
