Pray this Lazaroo in happy anticipation:

“So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”
(Genesis 3:23-24)

What a heartbreak, Jesus!

We’ve been mourning that loss ever since.

But in heaven –

for those of us who’ve placed our trust in You –

that longing will be fulfilled!

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”
(Genesis 3:23-24)

It doesn’t sound like we’re getting back in there, Jesus.

Certainly not here on this earth.

But there’s a better place than the Garden of Eden, isn’t there?

Heaven!

And for all who put their faith and trust in You

Angels won’t keep us out.
They’ll usher us in.

You want us to live forever, Jesus

but not on this earth.

The longer we live on this planet

the more we understand why!

Some people think doing the wise thing is no fun, Jesus.

But that’s a lie, isn’t it?

Because Adam and Eve sinned, Jesus

You banished them from the Garden of Eden.

Our sin became so great that You caused a flood to destroy the earth

and with it, the Garden of Eden.

Oh, but that paradise and tree of life on earth

was only a copy of the one in heaven!

reserved for all
who put their faith, hope and trust
in You.

What more incentive could I possibly need, Jesus?

I’ve got some things to overcome, in 2018.

Some of them are new challenges.
But others are as old as I am.

The new ones are a handful, but the old ones?

Those are scariest of all.

After all this time, they’re still here.

But so are You.
