Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“The Lord said to Moses: ‘When anyone is unfaithful to the Lord by sinning unintentionally in regard to any of the Lord’s holy things, they are to bring to the Lord as a penalty a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value in silver, according to the sanctuary shekel. It is a guilt offering.’”
(Leviticus 5:14-15)

Even when I do wrong without knowing it

it’s still a sin, isn’t it, Jesus?

No excuses.

I need to confess it

and forsake it.

Pray this Lazaroo in fervency of spirit:

“…old wine and new wine take away their understanding. My people consult a wooden idol, and a diviner’s rod speaks to them. A spirit of prostitution leads them astray; they are unfaithful to their God. They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak, poplar and terebinth, where the shade is pleasant.”
(Hosea 4:11-13)

Addiction…spiritual cluelessness…idol worship…prostitution…unfaithfulness.

O, Jesus!

These are the sins still plaguing us today.

Deliver us, Mighty God!
Deliver us!

Pray this Lazaroo with riveted attention:

“You weep and wail because he no longer looks with favor on your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands. You ask, ‘Why?’ It is because the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.”
(Malachi 2:13-14)

Marriage vows are no joke to You, Jesus.

When we make them
You expect us to keep them.

Pray this Lazaroo with day-in, day-out devotion:

“Elisha said to the king of Israel, ‘Why do you want to involve me? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.’ ‘No,’ the king of Israel answered, ‘because it was the Lord who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab.’”
(2 Kings 3:13)

Israel’s king was unfaithful to You, Jesus.

Only when he’s in trouble does He turn to You.

Many people do the same!

May I never be one of them.

Pray this Lazaroo with total transparency:

“Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house…”
(Hebrews 3:5)

Faithfulness is good, Jesus.

But Your description of Moses
shows me there are degrees of faithfulness.

Apparently, it’s possible to be faithful in part of Your house

and unfaithful in others.

A husband might be faithful to church
but unfaithful to his wife.

A woman may be faithful to serve others
but unfaithful in tithes and offerings.

Help me be like Moses:

faithful in all Your house!

Pray this Lazaroo in corrected awareness:

“…breaking faith with one another…”
(Malachi 2:10)

This is a big deal to You, isn’t it, Jesus?

To break faith with one another
is to break faith with You.

At first, it doesn’t look that way.

I’m tempted to think the way I treat others
is solely between them and me.

But then it I realize it isn’t:

Those “others” I’m breaking faith with
are Your kids.

Last time I checked

no dad likes it
when somebody mistreats His kid.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“…the unfaithful will be torn from it.”
(Proverbs 2:22)

Torn from what, Jesus?

Well, specifically, the land they live on.

But that could have broader meaning, couldn’t it?

Not everyone is a landowner.

But we all have something or someone that represents home to us.

That’s what the unfaithful will be torn from, isn’t it?
the very thing that means the most to them.

I need to stop applying this to other people, don’t I?

Help me be faithful!

Pray this Lazaroo with full-on ardor:

“I will live with you.”
(Hosea 3:3)

Nothing unusual to say to a wife, Jesus…

unless she’s left her husband to become a prostitute –
which is exactly what Hosea’s wife Gomer had done.

There was only one reason he took her back:

You told him to.

To his everlasting credit, he did it –

maybe the hardest command he ever obeyed.

You wanted to demonstrate through him what You’ve done with me

in taking me back
after all my sins.

Pray this Lazaroo with passion:

“…you must not…be intimate with any man…”
(Hosea 3:3)

Why would Hosea say such a thing to his wife, Jesus?

Actually, he had a pretty good reason:

She had cheated on him.

So why would he take her back?

Which raises another question:

Why have You taken me back?

I’ve sinned.
That’s cheating on You.

Hosea took back Gomer because You told him to

which is the same reason I’ve got to forgive those

who’ve sinned against me.
