Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“You will be filled with shame instead of glory.”
(Habakkuk 2:16)

No!

That can’t happen, Jesus.
Not if I have anything to say about it.

Well…even more importantly:
Not if I have anything I can do about it.

And I can!

I can repent of my sins and stop committing them –
especially those I’ve been guilty of, again and again.

I can obey You – instantly – when I see in Your Word
what You want me to do.

Glory!

Not shame.

Ezekiel waited seven days to hear Your assignment, Jesus.

I’ll wait as long as You want me to.

Just let me know what You want me to do!

You use the foolish things to confound the wise…

so I’m qualified.

Help me to be sure of what I’m pursuing, Jesus

making certain You want me to chase it.

Because with the gifts, talents and skills You’ve given me –

plus this burning determination –

I might catch it.

If it’s good, right and holy

and in Your perfect time

bless my pursuit with success!

But what a tragedy it would be if – as with what happened to Asahel –

when I catch it

it catches me.
