Pray this Lazaroo from the grateful depths of your soul:

“May the LORD repay you for what you have done.”
(Ruth 2:12)

That statement is a double-edged sword, isn’t it, Jesus?

Boaz meant it as a blessing – and it was!
You did, in fact, repay Ruth’s beautiful spirit toward her mother-in-law.

But when I’ve sinned, that’s the last thing I want to hear!

I don’t want to be repaid for the wrong I’ve done.

I want forgiveness!

Let me rephrase that:

I need forgiveness!

And that’s what You purchased for me on the cross.

Pray this Lazaroo…with second thoughts:

“I’ve been told all about what you have done…”
(Ruth 2:11)

I wouldn’t mind that at all, Jesus

if You caused the good I’ve done to be told.

But there’s a whole lot I’ve done

that I fervently hope, pray and beg You
to keep between us.

I wish You hadn’t seen those things

but there’s no hiding from You.

Wait a minute…

Yes, there is!

Because of Your sacrifice on the cross

You remember my sins no more!
