Pray this Lazaroo in ardent love:

“…God destined for our glory…”
(1 Corinthians 2:7)

I’m destined for glory, Jesus?

That thought boggles my mind.

I know who I am.
I know what I am.
I know how I speak, how I act, what I’ve done.

Glory…

isn’t exactly what I deserve.

And then that word, “destined!”

That means it’s going to happen.
Signed, sealed, delivered.

But it’s not me.

That’s for sure.

It’s You in me

changing me, transforming me, each day

into Your Likeness.

Pray this Lazaroo with the humility that comes from honesty:

“…there will be false teachers among you.”
(2 Peter 2:1)

Why, Jesus?

Why would You allow false teachers in Your Church?

I suppose that’s the same question as

why would You allow liars, addicts, adulterers, gluttons, gossips?

It’s who we are, isn’t it?

Thank God, not who You’re helping us become!

But we haven’t arrived.

Every single one of us has such a long way to go.

Since You’re lovingly correcting me…

I guess I can lovingly correct them.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning zeal:

“‘…shudder with great horror,’ declares the LORD.”
(Jeremiah 2:12)

That gives me away, doesn’t it, Jesus?

The things that horrify me.
The things that don’t.

Just as does what thrills me

and what doesn’t.

Am I horrified by sin?

Mine and those of others?

Am I thrilled by righteous acts?

Enough to celebrate with those who do them?
Enough to carry them out myself?

My emotions reveal who I am, don’t they, Father?

Please, Holy Spirit…

rise up within me!
