Am I doing that, Jesus?

I don’t think so…

but if it’s in an area I don’t understand
I could very well be guilty and not know it.

I have to face it:

There’s a whole lot I don’t understand!

You’re the one who gives understanding.

You know what I need to know
and what I don’t.

Help me grasp what I need
and respond exactly as You desire!

Better think twice, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…your destruction of animals will terrify you.”
(Habakkuk 2:17)

Seriously, Jesus?

Who cares that much about animals?

You do.

That means I’d be wise to care about them, too.

But a whole lot of people don’t.

They forget:

You’re their Creator!

which makes it a dangerous thing to ignore.

When You create

You’re invested.
You intend to fulfill Your purpose.

It would be a very good idea for me

to discover Your purpose for Your creation
and do my best to honor it.

Pray this Lazaroo in growing understanding:

“Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her. I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.”
(Ezekiel 4:7-8)

Just as You did with Ezekiel, Jesus

so You sometimes do with me.

You had given him a difficult task –

one he might have been tempted to abandon.

So You tied him to it.

That explains a whole lot of what’s happening in my life.

That explains a whole lot, Jesus!

You sometimes bring – or allow –
difficult, even evil people to enter my life

to test me!

You’re teaching me to overcome the temptation
to cast aside my faith in You and do wrong.

It’s pretty hard to teach me that

if I never run into any opposition.

“What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?”

Wise question, Jesus!

Kinda what Solomon was known for.

The sad reality is this: 

A whole lot of what I do
isn’t going to amount to a hill of beans
ten years from now.

How foolish to spend myself for nothing!

Which makes me wonder:

What could I do
that would matter even more
ten thousand years from now?
