Pray this Lazaroo in steadfast faith:

“They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
(Exodus 5:8-9)

But they weren’t lazy, Jesus!

They were obeying You!

May I always remember:

Even when I’m doing exactly what You desire
this can happen to me.

When others judge me harshly

should I quit obeying You?

No!
Never.

Check the mirror, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“But to Jonah this seemed very wrong, and he became angry. He prayed to the Lord, ‘Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home?’”
(Jonah 4:1-2)

First, Jonah runs from You, Jesus.

After he spends three days in the belly of a fish

he repents.

But when his obedience doesn’t go the way he likes

he justifies why he ran from You to begin with.

It’s a good thing I don’t ever do anything like that, Father.

Right…?

Right…?

Go ahead, be impressed as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, King Cyrus issued a decree to rebuild this house of God. He even removed from the temple of Babylon the gold and silver articles of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem and brought to the temple in Babylon.”
(Ezra 5:13-14)

Why would a mighty king

just one day up and decide to do such a thing, Jesus?

Because You put it in his heart
and made him do it.

I’m in pretty good Hands, aren’t I?

Pray this Lazaroo in Spirit-led recognition:

“But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
(Exodus 5:8-9)

Pharaoh was 100% wrong about their being lazy, Jesus.

He was wrong about their motivation, too.
They did intend to go sacrifice to You.

But his instincts were right about one thing:

Thanks to Your amazing power
They weren’t about to come back.

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your heart:

“Why do you now cry aloud—have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor? Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion…you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.”
(Micah 4:9-10)

When my sins have cost me my home, Jesus

is all lost?

No.

Even in a strange and foreign land

You can rescue me!

Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted dedication:

“I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.”
(1 John 2:26)

It’s hard to believe there are people like that, Jesus!

I don’t get it.

Why would anyone want to lead me astray?

Oh.

They’re being influenced by Satan, aren’t they?

He’s at war with You.
He hates that I belong to You.

So he’s doing everything in his power
to turn me toward him and away from You.

But he’s wasting his time.

Pray this Lazaroo in heart-pounding love:

“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”
(Hebrews 5:7)

The whole time You were here, Jesus

You knew why You’d come.

Even so, You begged to be delivered from death.

As He sometimes says to me
Your Father said, “no.”

But to our resurrection from the dead

He says, “Yes!”

Boast in the LORD! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: ‘Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?’”
(Acts 3:11-12)

Peter refused to take credit for Your miracle, Jesus.

As You work miracle after miracle for me

may I always give credit where credit is due!

Pray this Lazaroo in open-eyed awareness:

“Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.’”
(Genesis 4:6-7)

Sin is crouching at my door, too, Jesus.

May I never forget how passionately and persistently
sin desires to have me!

But may I always remember:

Greater are You in me
than the one who is in the world!
