Pray this Lazaroo with locked-in faith:

“…and through him to reconcile to himself all…things in heaven…”
(Colossians 1:20)

Huge task, Jesus…

though not as big as it once was.

There was that war in heaven where – along with Satan – You had to expel one-third of Your angels

sending them to earth.

Obviously, You’ve given them the gift of free will, too.

At times, though, it becomes a curse, doesn’t it?
when I use it to rebel against You.

When I do, LORD…

Please.
Quickly.

Reconcile me.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“Nevertheless he clung to the sins of Jeroboam…”
(2 Kings 3:3)

Joram was a good guy in a lot of ways, Jesus…

did some commendable things.

But for all that, he blew it where it most counted.

Half a loaf isn’t always better than none
when the whole loaf is laced with poison.

You don’t grade on the curve
You grade on the heart.

What do You see when You look into my heart, Father?

You see Your Son.

Pray this Lazaroo with eyes-open humility:

“…in my absence…”
(Philippians 1:27)

An awful lot happens in my absence, Jesus.

Ha! Almost everything does!
Much of it good…much not.

Either way, it’s humbling –

to witness how many wonderful things take place
without my help

to learn how many horrible things occur
behind my back.

In my own strength

I don’t have the power to make anything happen, do I?
nor can I prevent the bad from taking place.

Only You, LORD, only You.

Only You.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest respect:

“When Bathsheba went to King Solomon…the king stood up to meet her…”
(1 Kings 2:19)

I love this, Jesus –

the respect Solomon showed his mother.

Typically, kings didn’t stand for anyone except another king.

But You’ve instructed us to honor our mothers and fathers
that our days may be long on this earth.

Solomon knew Your Word.
He was filled with Your wisdom.

So when his mother entered the room
he paid her the honor due her:

He stood.

Rejoice! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…in the coming ages…”
(Ephesians 2:7)

Most people settle for their three score and ten in this age, Jesus.

Not me.

Because I’ve put my hope in You alone

You’ve promised me the rest of this age
and all the ages to come.

And the best part?

I’ll only be shackled inside the limitations of this body
for the tiniest portion of it.

The rest of the time I’ll enjoy the limitless capability of my new body

like Yours.

Pray this Lazaroo…with confidence:

“The house of Judah, however, followed David.”
(2 Samuel 2:10)

You promised David would be king over all Israel, Jesus.

For more than seven years, however, only Judah followed him.
The other tribes followed the son of Saul.

David waited a long time for Your promise to be fulfilled.

I can identify.
I’m still waiting on some of Your promises.

But the day came when Your promise to David came true

as will every promise You’ve made to me.

Pray this Lazaroo in heartfelt gratitude:

“God…was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles.”
(Galatians 2:8)

You chose the Jews, Jesus.

There’s no argument about that.
They’re Yours.

But Hallelujah! You didn’t stop there!

You chose the rest of us, too –
everyone who calls on Your Name.

The Jews who reject You will miss heaven

as will all the Gentiles – the non-Jews –
who fail to put their hope in You.

But I’ll join every believing Jew and Gentile

in heaven.

Pray this Lazaroo with keen anticipation:

“The LORD…brings down to the grave…”
(1 Samuel 2:6)

Unless You come back for Your Church first, Jesus

that’s where You’ll one day bring my body.

My time on earth is so short!

I’ve got to make it count.

Even so, the thing that gives me such hope is this:

My body may spend some time in the grave
but I won’t.

Because of my faith and trust in You alone

when my body goes down
I’ll go up.

Pray this Lazaroo…with transparency:

“I wrote you out of great distress…”
(2 Corinthians 2:4)

So much for the “super Christians” who say that no matter what happens

I should never become upset, Jesus.

As though my lack of concern is an indication of faith

and my emotional upset means I don’t trust You.

Not true!

If there ever was a “super Christian,” Paul was it
and he had no problem admitting that he was in “great distress.”

Perhaps “super Christianity”

begins with honesty.

Pray this Lazaroo in prayerful trust:

“Boaz asked the foreman of his harvesters…”
(Ruth 2:5)

Every leader’s got to have one of these, Jesus –

a foreman
a man or woman who heads up the project

makes sure it get done
and done right.

The top person can only do so much.

Of course, there’s a risk.

A great foreman is an enormous support to the leader.
A disloyal foreman deviously pursues his own agenda.

Please, Father!

Bring alongside every Godly leader
a great foreman.
