Pray this Lazaroo with unshakable belief:

“Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, ‘Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.’ What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.”
(John 2:9-11)

Your first miracle, Jesus!

With the greatest miracle of all –

the eradication of my sins –

yet to come.

Pray this Lazaroo with sold-out surrender:

“Over the table of the Presence they are to spread a blue cloth and put on it the plates, dishes and bowls, and the jars for drink offerings; the bread that is continually there is to remain on it. They are to spread a scarlet cloth over them, cover that with the durable leather and put the poles in place.”
(Numbers 4:7-8)

I have to wonder about that scarlet cloth, Jesus.

Did it stand for the blood You would one day shed

to cover my sins?

Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—to show mercy to our ancestors…”
(Luke 1:69-72)

Your salvation is awesome, Jesus!

But how does that show mercy to our ancestors?

It’s for those who are with You in heaven
looking down with great joy
mightily cheering us on!

Pray this Lazaroo with wholehearted adoration:

“As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin. Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons…”
(Leviticus 5:6-7)

I love this about You, Jesus!

Even while punishing our sins
You compassionately remember the poor.

May I always show them
the same, loving respect.

Pray this Lazaroo with pure devotion:

“While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: ‘Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?’”
(Mark 2:15-16)

These Pharisees didn’t get it, did they, Jesus?

They were sinners, too.

Please, please, please:

Never let me become that blind.

Pray this Lazaroo with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“Then the Lord said, ‘Put your hand inside your cloak.’ So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, the skin was leprous—it had become as white as snow. ‘Now put it back into your cloak,’ he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.”
(Exodus 4:6-7)

This was no parlor trick, Jesus.

This was the real deal –

like everything You do.

Pray this Lazaroo in deepest respect:

“…Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?’ Jesus replied, ‘Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then John consented.”
(Matthew 3:13-15)

This is absolutely beautiful, Jesus.

For You to lower Yourself, doing what You didn’t have to do
to set a righteous example for me?

That makes me want to choose You
all over again.

Pray this Lazaroo in thudding realization:

“’I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.’ To the woman he said, ‘I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.’”
(Genesis 3:15-16)

First You punished the serpent, Jesus

then You punished the woman.

The man’s next, isn’t He?

For deliberate sin

there’s a price.

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Has not the one God made you?”
(Malachi 2:15)

What a mouthful, Jesus!

One God.
You.

My Creator.
You.

Those seven words fill my heart, too!

You planned me, designed me, created me

before You spoke the worlds into existence.

You chose the time when I’d make my appearance on planet earth.

Out of its 197 million square miles

You chose the exact place where I’d be born

to which parents

among which people

speaking which language –

to Your glory!

Pray this Lazaroo with laser-focused intensity:

“Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, ‘Take off his filthy clothes.’ Then he said to Joshua, ‘See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.’”
(Zechariah 3:4-5)

Is that how I look to you when I sin, Jesus?

As though I’m dressed in filthy clothes?

Wow.
I didn’t know.

I repent, LORD!

Clothe me in Your righteousness!
