Pray this Lazaroo buttressed by faith:

“This company of Israelite exiles who are in Canaan…”
(Obadiah 1:20)

That’s wild, Jesus.

They were exiles in the very land You had promised them.

Everybody looked at them like outsiders, intruders

not knowing they were looking down on people
to whom they would one day look up

not realizing these trespassers
would one day become the land’s owners.

I can identify.

Today I walk this land as a foreigner

but my Dad owns it all
and I’m Your heir.

Open your heart, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“The Sovereign LORD has spoken…”
(Amos 3:8)

When You speak, Jesus

That’s it.

No more debate.

There can be questions, seeking to understand.
But there’d better be no one arguing.

God help those who disagree
thinking they know better!

It’s not merely that You know what’s best.

It’s Your title: “Sovereign LORD” –

which means the reason You know what’s going to happen

is that You have all power to make it happen

while granting us the free will we crave.

Pray this Lazaroo with bulldog faith:

“…they run along the wall.”
(Joel 2:9)

What a terrifying sight, Jesus!

It’s bad enough to see my enemies coming in the distance.

But when they’re here, scaling my wall?

Huh-uh.
It’s over.

Except it’s not.

Humanly speaking, yes.
But it’s never too late with You.

Is anything too hard for the King of kings and LORD of lords?
Nope.

By every appearance it can look like all is lost.

But You’re the God who can disappear every appearance.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“For the Israelites will live many days without…idol.”
(Hosea 3:4)

You want us to live all our days without idols, Jesus!

But Your people had a hard time doing that.

So You stepped in
and provided the necessary incentive.

I have a hard time staying idol-free too, don’t I?

Oh, I don’t realize it at first.
I think I’m idol-free.

But the moment I hesitate to do Your will because I think something else looks better?

That’s an idol.

Unashamedly plead with God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“I know the slander…”
(Revelation 2:9)

Thank You for understanding, Jesus!

because this isn’t merely people saying something negative about me.

This is slander – lying about me in a way that damages my reputation.

If my reputation is destroyed, my effectiveness is ruined.
People won’t believe me, won’t trust me.

Of course, that’s what happened when they crucified You, wasn’t it?

…until You rose from the dead!

Every time somebody slanders me, Jesus…

step in and resurrect my reputation!

Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“I have found a man…”
(Daniel 2:25)

At first glance, that’s not especially unusual, Jesus.

There are a lot of men out there –
3.8 billion now, though less then.

But Daniel isn’t just any man.

He’s Your man.

You gifted, called and prepared him for that moment in time.

You’ve done the same for every person on earth
who’s put their trust in You.

Why am I here at this point in history, LORD?

Use me for Your glory!

Sell out totally to God as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…spoken against him.”
(Jude 1:15)

My tongue is a hard thing to control, Jesus.

Just about the time I think I’ve learned how
I learn the hard way that I haven’t.

I would never intentionally speak against You!

Never!
Never!
Never!

But when I complain

that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Nothing occurs unless You make it happen or allow it.

You’re in charge. You own it all.
And You’re no absentee landlord.

No matter what!

Please help me remember.

Pray this Lazaroo in non-arguing obedience:

“Go now to your countrymen in exile…”
(Ezekiel 3:10)

Tough assignment, Jesus!

These people were pretty cranky over being expelled from their homeland.
They were also rebellious against You.

When You place me among bad attitude people

all I want to do is run.

But they need help, encouragement and Your Word too, don’t they?

So I guess the main thing for me to keep in mind

is to embrace my God-given mission

and not become cranky and rebellious. 😉

Pick up a tip as you pray this Lazaroo: 😉

“You will do well…”
(3 John 1:6)

What a great way to give important advice, Jesus:

Preface it by saying:

“You will do well…”

Sure beats:

“You’d better…”
or, “You have to…”
or, “I’m telling you to…”
or, “I’m warning you…”

I’ve got to remember everybody wants to do well.

So when I offer advice –

especially the unsolicited kind –

cause me to remember and enable them to understand:

I’m only helping them do
what they already want to do.

Pray this Lazaroo in total submission:

“All my enemies have heard of my distress…”
(Lamentations 1:21)

It travels among them in land speed record time, doesn’t it, Jesus?

“Did you hear? Did you hear? Did you hear?”

The one they despise got what they believe I deserve.

So be it.

The truth is, I deserve worse.

Maybe not for the reasons they suppose
but for reasons You full well know.

Maybe I’m being disciplined. Maybe I’m suffering for You.

I don’t know.

Either way…
thank You.
