Pray this Lazaroo from the depths of your soul:

“…the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men…at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon…”
(Daniel 2:48-49)

You’re the one who made the king promote Daniel, Jesus.

Then You laid it on Daniel’s heart
to take his fellow Jews along for the ride.

Take me wherever You desire, LORD!

even if You have to move heaven and earth to do it.

Pray this Lazaroo in heart pounding love:

“I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:14)

Well, it’s working, Jesus.

I fear You!

Not because I think You don’t love me.

I know You do.

It’s just that You Are so Awesome! So Powerful!

You’re Bigger than big, Wiser than wise.

I love that You and I are close – 1on1.

But Your attributes are so mind-boggling
that I can’t help but tremble in Your Presence.

Grasp it! as you pray this Lazaroo:

“He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.”
(Proverbs 3:34-35)

Much of my society has this reversed, Jesus.

They think proud mockers are strong, successful.
They envy them, aspire to be like them.

But the wise among us know better.

Today, their humility has brought them oppression

but tomorrow, eternal honor awaits!

If and when I’m forced to choose –

to have it today or have it tomorrow –

I choose forever in heaven with You!

Pray this Lazaroo with incentivized gratitude:

“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”
(Proverbs 3:13, 17-18)

Some people think doing the wise thing is no fun, Jesus.

But that’s a lie, isn’t it?
Straight from the pits of hell.

Pleasantness
P
eace
Life
Blessing

Those sound awfully good to me!

Pray this Lazaroo all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Day after day they spoke to him but he refused to comply. Therefore they told Haman about it to see whether Mordecai’s behavior would be tolerated, for he had told them he was a Jew.”
(Esther 3:4)

When the laws of the land conflict with Your Word, Jesus

it’s no contest.

Traditions, customs, police, judges, mayors, governors presidents all lose.

You win.

The only reason I have to pray about it

is to learn from You the wisest way to proceed.

Pray this Lazaroo with burning emotion:

“Abner called out to Joab, ‘Must the sword devour forever? Don’t you realize that this will end in bitterness? How long before you order your men to stop pursuing their fellow Israelites?’”
(2 Samuel 2:26)

This was the wise plea, Jesus

of a general whose army was being soundly beaten.

There’s a time to keep fighting

and a time to call a halt to the hostilities
when nothing worthwhile is being accomplished.

O Holy Spirit!

Give me Your discernment
to know which is which.

Pray this Lazaroo in courageous wisdom:

“…their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:16)

That’s a sure sign of demonic activity, isn’t it, Jesus?

When somebody actively tries to stop me from telling people about You

I need to rebuke Satan and redouble my efforts to share the gospel!

Of course, if they’re not trying to stop me from witnessing

but merely coaching me to be wiser in how I approach others

maybe I need to listen! 😉

Pray this Lazaroo with earnest desire:

“But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers…”
(Judges 2:19)

It’s clear, Jesus.

Righteous leadership is essential!

Left to ourselves, we stray.

We don’t like to think of ourselves as sheep
but history proves it over and over again:

We need a shepherd.

You Are the Great Shepherd!

We are Your sheep, the precious people of Your flock.

But please, LORD:

Give us holy, pure, wise, faithful, Godly undershepherds.

Pray this Lazaroo in grateful humility:

“…the older women…can train the younger women…”
(Titus 2:3-4)

That’s Your plan, isn’t it, Jesus?

You take us through so many things through the years

not only to teach us

but to help us acquire the knowledge to teach others.

Thank You for every older woman

who passes on the wonderful insights You’ve given –

large and small.

And thank You for every younger woman wise enough to listen

so that one day she too

can pass it on.

Decide to trust, as you pray this Lazaroo:

“…who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish?”
(Ecclesiastes 2:19)

Solomon is talking about his successor, Jesus.

Just as he succeeded King David
he knew that one day someone would succeed him.

You gave Solomon unprecedented wisdom

so that’s what he valued.

Would the one who succeeded him be as wise?

No. Not even close.

But so what?

The last thing this world needs

is someone like Solomon who refuses to use
the gifts You give them.
